Knight of Blood by caseroo12 Knight of Blood by caseroo12
I really love this shot, I saw a drawing awhile ago of Karkat pulling this pose. (If someone can find the picture, I'll link to it.) The design is Rumminovs [link]
The armor was started about a few weeks after AX 2012 and is made entirely out of craft foam. The cape was hand beaded by myself. The shirt and pants were made days before ALA 2013, and they look really bad :C The wig is from epiccosplay and the gloves from welovecolors.

Wow, I love this! Did you rigid coat this or something? Just wondering how you achieved the structure. Thanks!

I darted it to get the curves and sealed it with mod podge but that's really about it

Also how did you get the edging to look like that? Painted over with puffy paint or hot glue I'm guessing?

Hey, I'm planning to do something like this very soon for myself! So, I was looking for a good paint to buy but I can't find black or something dark in any of the recommended brands. I'm sure you get asked this often but, what paint did you use?

I used really cheap acrylic paint! The brand is called "Craft Smart" and can be found at Micheals Craft Store.

Oh, ok, And then the basic floor wax or clear painter's touch paint over it for the shine?

I used about 7 coats of glossy modge podge, and 2 coats of DuraClear Matte Varnish.

One last question, what did you seal the foam with before painting?

Actually, I didn't seal it before I painted. Craft foam is a closed cell foam which means that you can paint over it without having to seal it first! Just make sure that you seal it after you finish painting it ;P
